The barge Heng Tong 77 is still grounded at Sea view in Karachi due to the failure of all attempts made by a local team to date. The authority concerned is planning to take legal action against the ship’s owner if he fails to secure the vessel at the earliest.

The boat is already under detention on the question of seaworthiness in Pakistan.

This untoward situation has developed following the continued failure of salvage operation led by Seamax Marine Group for the last month. It accused that the vessel owner has appointed a local company that lacks the experience to handle such shipping casualties. The extreme weather and strong winds also disturb the salvage operation, but the poor rope quality most affects the salvage operation.
