Federal Ombudsman Advisor visits KPT

The Advisor to Federal Ombudsman, Hafiz Ehsan Khan, visited the state of the art online Pension Cell of Karachi Port Trust. His visit was in pursuance to the instructions given out to Federal Government Department to facilitate their pensioners through implementation of online disbursement of pension to pensioners. KPT is amongst the few government organizations to successfully launch an online disbursement facility for their pensioners.

The Advisor Hafiz Ehsan Khan was shown the Pension Hall as well as the online system running in KPT by General Manager Finance Mr. Nazeer Ahmed Seehar and the Chief Accounts Officer Mr. Mashhood Jan. During the visit the Advisor Ehsan Khan was also shown the new pension card that KPT has developed which has replaced the Pension Book that existed during the manual system. It enabled the KPT to directly credit pension to pensioners in their respective accounts for which the pensioners have now ease to receive through debit ATM cards from their respective bank accounts anywhere located in Pakistan. The pensioners had to wait in long queues when manual system prevailed in KPT and today they even don’t have to come to KPT Head Office to draw their pensions. The General Manager Finance Mr. Seehar further informed that the online system has made the KPT capable of clearing out all dues and pension commencement from the date the employees and officers retires from KPT. While sharing more information, the General Manager Finance of KPT Mr. Nazeer Seehar pointed out that any possibility of ghost pensioners has also been eliminated through NADRA verifications while processing cases of pension through the online system.

The Advisor to Federal Ombudsman appreciated the initiative taken by General Manager Finance Mr. Nazeer Ahmed Seehar and other officers of the Accounts Department & Pension Cell in swiftly managing the online System.
