Delegation of Auto Industry will call on Ishaq Dar

A delegation of Auto Industry related Industrialist, headed by Presidential candidate Zubair Tufail, will call on Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, next week. According to statement released by Korangi Association of Trade & Industry (KATI), Senior Vice president of KATI and chairman of FPCCI’s standing committee on Automotive Ghazanfar Ali Khan told this in a meeting with local industrialist of Auto Industry. He said that more that in Pakistan locally less than 2 hundred thousand cars assembled annually, instead of the annual demand of 3 hundred thousand. He said that current government has given relaxations in Auto Policy which impacted positively, and Foreign Investor and Companies have shown interest to invest in this industry, which gives a hope for development of auto industry in the country, it would help to boost revenue and employment opportunities.

Ghazanfar Ali also suggested that Government should come with an agreement with small car manufacturing company, to provide cars to the common people.” Under such agreement, prices of small cars should be bar for certain level, tax relaxation should be given to the manufacturers and duration of the agreement should be 10 years.” He said.
He told on this occasion that in upcoming meeting with finance minister measures, suggestions and proposals for the betterment of local auto industry will be discussed. Owners of the three car manufacturing companies are also included in the delegation, statement said.
