Condolence meeting in the loving memory of Wakeel Farooqi

“Loss of a person I use to interact on daily basis is unbelievable indeed; late Wakeel Farooqi was one of them. He was a loving person and I knew him from more than 40 years” said Mr. Ahmed Shah, president Arts Council. Condolence reference in the memory of Wakeel Farooqi was organized by Arts Council. Further expressing his sorrow on the moment Ahmed shah said that Wakeel Farooqi was very passionate about his work. Apart from his friends & family members people from different fields of work joined his condolence.

Refreshing his memories actor Shahzad Raza said that people loved him and he will be missed. Senior Pakistani actor &member of the governing body of Arts council Mr. Talat Hussain said that Wakeel Farooqi was my junior I spent a long time with him. I witnessed his sincerity towards his work. Talking about late Wakeel Farroqi’s personality his friend& colleague Tasneem rana said that he was a bold person he never used to afraid of doing new things. “His character Joji in the famous drama of Pakistan television aakhri chatan has given him massive praise” said by Actor Aslam Shaikh.

Mr. Rauf Lala said that I used to call him the key of Arts council as he used to spend a lot of his time at this place. Iqbal Lateef, member of governing body said that I and Wakeel Farooqi have done many plays together. He was ambitious and wanted to fulfill all his dreams. Recalling his memories Kashif Grami said that the last time I met him was the day he passed away, he loved to travel & enjoy his life to the fullest. On the occasion Dr. Huma mir said that when I was a child I often used to visit PTV and wakeel farooqi was an active member there his attitude was very positive towards his junior. Asjad Bukhari said that it is hard to believe that Wakeel Farooqi is no more with us. Late Farooqi’s siblings has also shared his memories with the audience and said that we are very thankful to the Arts Council for organizing his condolence.

Meanwhile, Arts Council Karachi is organizing a book launching ceremony of poetry compilation by Canadian poetess Syeda Munawar Jahan Zaidi on 16th January at Gul rang Hall at 6:00 pm. Khalid Moin will moderate the event. Member governing body Syed Asjad Bukhari, Yasmeen Akhter, Akram kunjahi, Rafay Uddin Raaz, Sohail Ahmed & officer Saeed Khan will be the guest of honors while Zaib Azkar Hussain, Dr. Nuzhat Abbasi, Razia Subhan, Dr. Sarwat Rizvi, Rana Khalid Mahmood Qaiser and Hameeda Kashish will be the speakers. This event will be concluded with a poetic session.
