KPT says molasses leakage at oil installation area
Karachi Port Trust (KPT) has said on April 07 that a molasses leakage incident took place in a private terminal “Pakistan Molasses Company (PMC)” yard at (Shireen Jinnah Colony), near Karachi port yesterday. The terminal is a private entity, however, KPT has provided all rescue and medical support to the terminal and the Crisis Management Center of KPT immediately started rescue operations.
DP World wins 30-year concession for greenfield port of Banana
DP World has won a 30-year concession with an option of a further 20-year extension for the management and development of a greenfield multi-purpose port project at Banana, Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). The Port of Banana will be the first deep-sea port in the country along its small coastline of 37 kilometres, which currently only has the riverine port of Matadi.
DP World to acquire stake in Kazakhstan’s special economic zones
Global trade enabler DP World and the government of Kazakhstan signed two framework agreements in Abu Dhabi today relating to the acquisition, governance and management of Special Economic Zones (SEZ) in Aktau and Khorgos. DP World has been providing management services to the Port of Aktau, Kazakhstan’s main cargo and bulk terminal on the Caspian Sea, and Khorgos SEZ, which is strategically situated on the China-Kazakhstan border and has been acting as the primary transit point for trans-Eurasian cargo trains for more than four years.
SAPTL says no suspension of operations at terminal despite vessels collision
Karachi Port Trust said today that after accident, which occurred at South Asia Pakistan Terminal Limited (SAPTL, near Karachi port on March 19, involving container vessel Tolten and container vessel Hamburg Bay, the operations at SAPTL are ongoing as per normal after a little pause.

Milaha acquires its largest container vessel
Doha, Qatar — Milaha, a Qatar-based maritime and logistics conglomerate, has acquired its largest container vessel to date, Majd, a 3,768 TEU vessel. The new vessel will be one of the 17 container vessels that the group operates, and is part of the ongoing expansion of the group’s overall fleet.
DP World increases stake in Embraport in Santos, Brazil
DP World has completed the acquisition of an additional 66.67% stake in Empresa Brasileira de Terminais Portuários (Embraport) in Brazil from Odebrecht Transport (OTP). This transaction increases DP World’s shareholding to 100% and the terminal will be rebranded to DP World Santos.
