Businesses unite in bid to achieve U.N. sustainable development goals

Business leaders in Dubai met recently to discuss harnessing their employee resources to achieve the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Mobilising volunteering programmes to achieve sustainable change by 2030 was the focus of a Leadership Forum organised by DP World and Emirates NBD as part of IMPACT 2030 – the only international private-sector led coalition aligning employee resources to achieve the goals which focus on key global issues such as poverty, inequality and climate change.

KPT says molasses leakage at oil installation area

Karachi Port Trust (KPT) has said on April 07 that a molasses leakage incident took place in a private terminal “Pakistan Molasses Company (PMC)” yard at (Shireen Jinnah Colony), near Karachi port yesterday. The terminal is a private entity, however, KPT has provided all rescue and medical support to the terminal and the Crisis Management Center of KPT immediately started rescue operations.

DP World wins 30-year concession for greenfield port of Banana

DP World has won a 30-year concession with an option of a further 20-year extension for the management and development of a greenfield multi-purpose port project at Banana, Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). The Port of Banana will be the first deep-sea port in the country along its small coastline of 37 kilometres, which currently only has the riverine port of Matadi.
