KCCi urges government to take back decisions to raise electricity tariff
Chairman Businessmen Group (BMG) & Former President Karachi Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI) Zubair Motiwala, President KCCI Shariq Vohra and Chairman Pakistan Apparel Forum Muhammad Jawed Bilwani have appealed Prime Minister Imran Khan and his economic aides to take back the totally unwise and ill-timed decisions to raise electricity tariff by 15 percent and closedown captive power plants which would not only have a devastating impact on the export-oriented industries but would also terribly disturb the local production of general industries, besides sabotaging all the efforts being made by the government to enhance the exports.

SBP decided to maintain the policy rate at 7 percent
- At its meeting on 22nd January 2021, the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) decided to maintain the policy rate at 7 percent. The MPC noted that since the last meeting in November, the domestic recovery has gained some further traction. Most economic activity data and indicators of consumer and business sentiment have shown continued improvement.
KCCI, SFIC ink MoU for setting up joint working group

Power tariff hike to burden masses by over Rs. 200 billion.: Mian Zahid Hussain
Chairman of National Business Group of FPCCI, President Pakistan Businessmen and Intellectuals Forum and All Karachi Industrial Alliance, and former provincial minister Mian Zahid Hussain said a fifteen percent hike power tariff would burden masses by over 200 billion rupees.
He said the decision should be reversed as it will hit economic activities and erode the confidence of the investors.
