UNIDO to launch low emissions and climate resilient development project in Korangi Industrial Area

The Global Environment Facility (gef) will provide US $ two million for transforming the leather processing industries towards low emissions and climate resilient development paths project for Korangi Industrial Area, Karachi. This was disclosed by Ivan Kral, Industrial Development Officer, Department of Agri Business Development of United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) in a workshop organized by Pakistan Tanners Association (Southern Zone) Environmental Society, earlier this week.

Engro Corporation announces PAT of PKR 11,646m in 3Q2017

Engro Corporation today announced its 3rd Quarter results showcasing a strong overall performance in its businesses. Profitability was augmented by the steady performances of terminal services and power, fertilizer, petrochemicals and the signing of major financial agreements for SECMC.

On a consolidated basis, Engro Corporation’s revenue was PKR 86,431 million for the first three quarters of 2017, a 20% decrease from PKR 107,834 million for the comparative period last year.

Engro signs new digital agreement with GE Power to enhance performance at six power plants

GE Power (NYSE: GE) signed a 10-year agreement with Engro to implement the Asset Performance Management (APM) solution, powered by Predix, at six power plants – the Engro Powergen Qadirpur Ltd. 220 megawatts (MW) Combined Cycle Power Plant, Engro 660 MW Thar Power Plant, Kolachi 450 MW Combined Cycle Power Plant and two upcoming wind power generation sites in Pakistan, as well as the GEL 75 MW facility in Nigeria.
