The 4th death anniversary of renowned Urdu poet Pirzada Ashiq Kairanvi is being observed on Sunday (today). Hailed as the most prolific poet, Pirzada Ashique Kairanvi stays behind the world’s lengthiest Ghazel comprising some 30 thousand unique verses, the most extended poetic creation produced in any world language spoken today. His famous collections include Aik Ghazel, Masnavi Tulu-e-Sehar, Kitab-Ul-Ashaar and Quaid Ke Huzoor, as well as such classic poetic compilations as Zahr-e-Ishq, Bait Bazi, Kuliyat-e-Sahir, Saheli Boojh Paheli, etc.

Ashiq Kairanvi was born on August 20, 1932, in Kairana tehsil of Muzaffarnagar district in Uttar Pradesh, India and was died in Karachi four years ago in January 2015. He was associated with many literary organizations, namely Idara-e-Adbistan Khairpur, Bazm-e-Hameed, Anjuman-e-Shoraa-e-Gumnaman-e-Jahan and the Pakistan Readers’ Guild.
