The Design-A-Bag Competition 2022

The Design-A-Bag Competition 2022 Final Judging Ceremony successfully took place on 31st March during APLF Dubai 2022. The judging panel selected Amara, designed by Neil Bryan Capistrano from Philippines, as this year’s overall winner. Neil will receive a 5-week bag design course in Milan valued at USD 4,900 with USD 1,000 accommodation allowance at the prestigious Arsutoria School as the final prizes.

The Final Judging Ceremony was held on the second day of APLF Dubai 2022 at Dubai World Trade Centre. Three finalists were invited to further explain their creative background and concept for their bag design. The judges also provided their insights and advice on design and creativity to our attendees and to designers who are interested to join DAB2023. The DAB2022 finalists will all receive a USD 500 cash prize plus a one-year subscription to www.arstrends.com.

Mr Stefano Migliavacca, one of the judges who attended the ceremony remarked,

“I’m very proud of this Design-A-Bag Competition 2022, the 3 finalists did a fantastic job in this complicated times. To be together with them physically in Dubai was a pleasure and to offer a 5-week scholarship “DESIGN A COLLECTION” to the winner Neil Bryan Capistrano is a privilege. The AMARA handbag, inspired by Tamaraw, a critically endangered species of water buffalo of Philippines, was astonishing for the design with an eye to the market. I’m sure that for 2023 we will have again young designers with great creativity and a special dedication to nature and leather. Thanks to all participants that make Design-A-Bag Competition possible and wonderful.”
