Competitions at the Parvez Abbasi Open Shooting Championship 2018 kicked-off on Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at the Pakistan Navy Shooting Range in PNS Karsaz, Karachi. The six-day tournament has gathered shooters from across the country to compete in various type of firearms shooting sport Air Pistol, Air Rifle, Big Bore Pistol, Big Bore Rifle, Skeet Olympic, Trap Olympic and .22 Sight Rifle.

A total of 27 events will be organized including 15 International Shooting Sport Federation events and 7 local events. There will be 10 Rifle Events, 10 Pistol Events and 2 Shotgun Events during the six-day tournament.

The annual event is held to celebrate the life and achievements of Parvez Abbasi, the founding secretary of the National Rifle Association and the driving force behind promotion of the shooting sports in Pakistan.

As an open shooting championship, over 400 shooters from general public as well as teams representing armed forces and law enforcement agencies are participating in the competition.
